Arf! I'm Andy the Poodle

My Gaby got me a new sweater! I was very interested in putting it on so I stood very still for her. It kept me really warm. But then my Gaby pulled out this little black box, it scares me! I ran away from her and tried to go into my Gaby's closet until she cornered me, then I ran away and kept my head down. I tried to go into the family room but I ran out of places to hide. She didn't leave me alone forever and it kept flashing! I was really scared.

I wanted to see if she was still following me.



Maybe if I put my head down she won't be able to see me.

All week my Gaby told me that I would be starting school and last night I finally went! It was at the same place she took me to buy my toys last time. We walked in and lots of dogs were waiting. While we were waiting for school to start I played with other dogs. Then my Gaby saw two other poodles in the building and took me over to say hi. They were older than me and I got scared, but I don't know why! I hid behind my Gaby until she took me back to our lesson.

My teacher's name is Liz and she is really nice! She gave me lots of cookies. She hides them in her hand so whenever I see her I sniff her hand and she gives me food. I loved school because I got lots of food. First my Gaby would say my name and if I looked at her she made a click sound and gave me a treat. After that my teacher took my leash and said watch me and when I looked at her she gave me a treat and made a click. Then my Gaby praticed with me and if I didn't look at her she put the treat on her nose until I looked at her. It was easy!

After that my teacher took one of the other puppies in front of the class and held a treat in front above her head until she sat down. I wanted more treats so bad that I sat down for my Gaby right away! I hope we go back to school again soon.

This morning my Gaby woke up really early. I was so happy when she got all ready and told me I could go with her. Usually when she leaves I have to stay at home. We went for a car ride and it looked like we were going to the park, but we passed the park and turned into Dr. Schorr's office. I hate it when I have to go there!

We went in and I pulled and pulled on my leash so my Gaby wouldn't make me go in. She picked me up though so I had to. She talked to the girl there for awhile and they lifted me onto a big metal platform and started saying 55. Then my Gaby left and I had to go into a kennel. Later on I saw Dr. Schorr and they gave me medicine then I fell asleep. When I woke up it hurt between my back legs. It still hurts a lot. I am tired.

I am very excited. My Gaby has been telling me that soon we are going to the beach in California. She said that the ocean is like a huge bathtub where I can run and chase birds all I want. I also get to go on a really long car ride she said. I love riding in the car, especially my Gaby's mom's car where I get lots of room to myself.

Today my Gaby's dad bought me a big chew bone. I ate the whole thing really fast and now I don't have anything to chew on except for my duck. Last week Gaby took me to this big place that had lots of dog toys. I was scared to go in because every time the door would open it would close again. I was afraid it would close on me or something. My Gaby is very brave though and carried me in. Once I got in she told me I could pick any toys that I wanted. I picked a stuffed duck that squeaks and two pigs ears. The pigs ears tasted really good but they did not last very long. I still have my duck though.

It sure is hot outside when you live in Arizona. It was never like this in Missouri. I don't even like being in my backyard anymore even though there's lots of green grass! Running through the sprinklers is fun though!
My Gaby hurt her foot so I haven't been on any walks lately. It makes me sad but I've gotten to play with my toys a lot and she has been home so I haven't had to stay outside.

This week I got a haircut and it's really cool. I'm happy because now I'm not so hot all the time. Now I have pompoms on my legs. They move really cool when I run!



Today my Gaby taught me a new trick. It is called speak. Whenever she puts her hand up and says "speak" I bark for her. It is easy.

Now my Gaby takes me out running with her. I love to run but I get scared when we run past the boogedy dogs houses. When we get close I stop running because I don't want them to bark at me. My Gaby gets mad when I do that.

Today I finally met my cousin Amos. My family took me to his house for a family barbecue. He is a big black poodle just like me but older. The only difference is that I was taller but he was stronger than me. My uncle Karl said the reason he is shorter is because he was the runt. I do not know what that means. Our families knew who we were but the only way the other people could tell us apart was because my leg is shaved.
When I first met him he barked at me and growled at me. Then he just looked at me. After a few minutes though, he wanted to play! We chased each other around the yard all day and it was really fun! I'm tired from all of the running.

I have had very good last three days!

On Easter my Gaby's mom said the easter bunny brought me a present. There was a basket with a chewlotta bone and a box of milkbones for me and cat food and a bird treat for Beaver and Lolly. I was really happy. Later on we went to my favorite Aunt Maggie's house and I got to play with her dog Jake. He was the nicest dog I ever met, but he didn't really want to play with me. Aunt Maggie has the best back yard ever. There was the softest green grass I have ever felt, a fountain I could drink water out of, and lots of flowers. I never saw a dog who looked like Jake before in my whole life! He looks like these dogs.


Yesterday my Gaby took me on a fun walk to the park. I got to see with Tasha and chase a football with a dog named Charlie. They weren't that fun though, they didn't run around with me much.

Today my Gaby gave me a bath. I kept wanting to jump out but the water was kind of fun. I had to stay very still or Gaby would spill water and get mad. She told me I did a good job in the bath. Afterwards I had to be dried with the wind machine. I hate that part! It took a long time but then she let me go part way wet. I felt so happy to be clean! I sprinted back and forth in the house and let everyone pet me. Then I went outside and ran five laps around the backyard. I am soft and smell like flowers now.
